I have a GPS turned off message on my Fitbit that won't clear. I have tried everything I can think of

Hi, @2teetime , have you given it a restart?

If possible, you can restart from the device itself.  Swipe to the settings app and choose “reboot device”

If the screen is frozen you will need to plug the Charge 4 into its charging cable and attach it to a charging source (just as you would to charge as normal) then press and hold the button for at least 8 seconds (sometimes it can take longer if the Fitbit has become unresponsive).  When you release the button you should feel a slight vibration and see a smile icon indicating the Charge 4 has restarted.

Hopefully that will solve the issue, though you may have to repeat the restart procedure if it does not work first time.

Let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the forums!

I have the same issue and it didn’t work for me. I guess I will keep looking fir answers. When it has a notification like that, why does the ability to swipe completely halt?

I have a new Charge 4 Fitbit, just replaced my old one a few days ago.  The GPS notification was stuck on the screen for two days. I tried many, many times to reboot (while plugged into charger) and nothing happened. I never got a smiley face.  I don't think the side button is working, it doesn't seem to move, or push in, when I press on it.  Last night I suddenly got a "real screen", but this morning I see my steps never stopped at midnight, but just carried over into today.  Meanwhile I keep trying to reboot (while plugged into charger). This new Fitbit just doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Hi, @sjasis , it sounds like your Fitbit was unresponsive last night when midnight happened, so it was unable to receive the midnight signal to reset your steps.  Unfortunately there is no way to correct that error now, and a reboot will definitely not make any difference.

However, the good news is that it sounds like it is working normally now, and hopefully your steps will reset tonight and all will be well moving forward.

I would advise keeping an eye on it and making sure it is properly functioning tomorrow.

So, since my last post on 12/11, my Fitbit never reset at midnight and has been accumulating steps, miles, calories, etc. since then.  The only thing that is working on this Fitbit is the clock and the heart rate, and I cannot even change the clock face to a different style, though I have tried numerous times though the app on my phone.  I still cannot reboot it either, as the side button is unresponsive as well.  This Fitbit is a dud!
