Hey all, i received my device today and even if i followed all steps is not working. The screen is black, no battery sign or smiley face. Nothing, just black. Is vibrates when i press the reset button, but nothing else happens. How can i start it? It's a new device, just got it today.

Hello, Denisa, if I remember good, I had exactly the same problem, when I opened box and removed tracker. In fact I thought the tracker is broken... But after all I could start it in the end. Try this (in fact I'm not really sure I could repeat all I've tried, but I'll do my best to recollect it): First I inserted Charge 4 into charging USB port and let it charge for some time (hour or hour and half would be sufficient). Then I pressed and held the button on the tracker for 8 second - maybe a little more (the tracker was still inserted in USB charging port - there is hole in the charging device and you can press and hold the tracker button there). If I remember correctly, it vibrated after those 8 seconds (8-10 sec - try to hold it better a little longer if you're unsure) and the device started ok after this.

Thank you for your reply, i tryed this alredy and is still not working. I tryed all day everything i found online and i read and tryed all the solutions offered here. Is still not working. Is just not opening at all, is just a black screen. I think i just have to return it.

I'm having the same black screen issue. The only difference is that the device doesn't vibrate when I push the button. Have any ideas?

Thanks for troubleshooting this display issue. I recommend restarting your Charge 4 by following the steps in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If this process don't make any difference, try changing your clock face by following the instructions provided in the help article: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?.

I tried the 8 second method already... no luck. The device is new and hasn't been paired to my Fitbit app yet so I can't try and change the screen. I know there is no Bluetooth activity on this device. Acts like the battery is completely dead and won't turn on... but days on the charger don't help either. This was a Christmas gift and I can't return because I'm outside the return time period.

Hello, Mark. It's strange Charge 4 doesn't vibrate at all. If I remember, my one was blank and unresponsible first but it vibrates when pushing button or after connecting to charger. If I undestand correctly if you connect it to the charger display stays black? No smile on it or anything? If it's so I'm afraid you are right and 1) battery is dead or 2) charger doesn't work right and doesn't charge battery in Fitbit. Unfortunately the charger is specific one and you can't try to charge different unit except of another Charge 4. Only possibility would be to test it with some voltmeter to find out.

.Mine worked beautifully for one week, then went completely blackface. It vibrates and loads when " fix one" suggested clock face change. I see the check mark, the loading line, a quick flash of the new face. Then goes black Fix 2 suggested pressing charger button in 8 seconds while charging. I did this several times. Still blackface. It is still recording steps and sleep. It was also suggested out of the blue, one day, the face may come back on its own. Sigh.

I have the same issue. Blank screen and the devuce vibrates when I press the button. When I put it on the charger...nothing happens. I also get unable to sync on my app. Additionally, a couple of days ago I had a probkem with the battery going dead overnight. I've had this device almost a year and this is a new occurence. I trued a hard restart and that seemed to solve the battery issue somewhat, but I can't help but think these issues are related. My initial warranty in due to expire in a month so I need thus corrected or replaced before then. I hope to hear back soon or I will be calling.

This just started happening to me today. The Fitbit shouldn’t have been dead but I noticed suddenly that the screen was black. I have tried restarting with no luck. While holding down the button for 8 seconds, it does vibrate, but that’s all. It’s not even that old.

I am having the same issue with my Charge 4. I just got off the phone with live support. My Charge 4 has been assigned a case number, and is being escalated. I would suggest that you call support (877) 623-4997.

I’m having the same issue. I received my Charge4 last Christmas and it was working great until the other night. I’ve tried resetting it with the charger (multiple times) and I can feel it vibrate and when calls/text come though but the screen is totally black. I’ve also tried changing the clock. That hasn’t worked either. So disappointing! 😭

Yes I am on chat right now and was told to change the clock face also. How does changing from one display to another resolve this issue? It makes no sense to me. I am seeing the different face while it is on the charger and as others have said, it seems to be charging. Until the past couple of days, I have found the Charge 4 to be awesome. The message notifications and move reminders were fantastic.
It is odd that there are this number of us having the same issue at the same time...?

Having the same problem as everyone in this chat and like most have tried all the "remedies" suggested here and in another chat about the same problem but none of them worked. When I did the reset and changed the clock face it worked for a few minutes and went blank again. It's also not tracking steps, sleep, or anything!! Very disappointing because I've only had my Charge 4 since February and would like it repaired/replaced. If one of the Moderator's could start me a case and have someone contact me about this I would really appreciate it.
I will say I never had any issues with my previous Fitbit and neither has my wife (she's on her second one also) so I still have "faith" in the Fitbit products but seeing all these post going back more than a couple years on the same issue is very concerning!!

Sadly this is the second Fitbit I’ve had with the same problem. It works great for a while then the face suddenly goes black and it doesn’t appear to be able to be reset. I’ve tried all advice offered and still nothing. It does vibrate and I can see it on my app though. Any suggestions now please?
