Charge 4 not responding to taps

Hi;

My Charge 4 stopped responding to taps.

The app shows that sync last occurred 8 hours ago.

I put it on the charger and it neither vibrates nor shows the battery icon, but according to the app it's fully charged,  Of course the contacts on the tracker and charger are clean.

I've gone through all of the reset procedures multiple times, i.e., while on or off the charger, hold down the tracker button for 8 seconds (during which it vibrates continuously) and when that vibration stops there's a  pause and another short vibration then the smiley face appears briefly.  However, after that, the screen does not respond to taps at all.

On my fully updated Android phone, I uninstalled the app completely and reinstalled it.  That did not help.

Any suggestions?  I miss my Fitbit!  😢

Thanks in advance!

Exact same thing is happening with my Charge 4.  Sorry no help, but I want to follow in case someone answers with some actual help.  I tried everything you did.  I hope there is some help for our devices.

Hi SeenaDee;

Sorry to hear you too are having the same problem.

I ended up contacting support and they walked me through the same steps I already described in my original post.  Charge 4 still would not respond to taps.

They sent the ticket to the next level where someone determined it could not be fixed.  Fitbit sent me an email offering a 35% discount on some current devices.

Of course I can't know if your situation is exactly the same, so you may want to contact support.

Good luck!

Thank you.  I did go through the same as describe and also was offered the discount for a new one. Ordered a Charge 6. Good luck to you.

We're on the same track; I too ordered a Charge 6 -- Coral color because the others were 'Out of stock' and I've learned to immediately replace the Fitbit bands with ones that don't irritate my skin.  Hopefully it will be more reliable than the Charge 4!
