Charge 4 shows wrong time

We were in an Eastern time zone and my charge 4 changed to that time. When we got back home in our central zone, the time remained eastern. I have synced it many times and it remains in eastern time mode.

@jeansarg It's nice to have you on board!

Thanks for the details shared on your post and for the troubleshooting tried prior posting.

If the time is still not updating even though your Fitbit device is properly syncing, I recommend doing the following:

  • In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab then your profile picture and then find App Settings
  • Tap Time zone and then turn off the Set Automatically option.
  • After 10 seconds turn on the "Set Automatically" option again and input the right time zone and sync.

Hope this helps.

That didn’t work for my charge 4 and iPhone 14. I powered my phone off and then powered on and opened Fitbit app and synced device. Watch now has new time zone.

Sadly, phone reboot didn't work for me.  Still stuck on EST.  Ironically, I left my Charge 4 in Detroit and bought another, replaced and rebooted, so it's never been in EST.  If Google can't, or can't be bothered, to get their SW right, then they shouldn't remove the option to manually set the timezone.  Fitbit owners know what the time is where they are!

Unfortuately, manual override is gone and I'm stuck on EST despite losing my old Charge 4 there and getting a replacement Charge 4 in the UK.  I did a factory reset, re-paired, and it had the correct time for ~ 36 hours before *deciding* to get it wrong.  Phone reboot & re-pair didn't work.  Multiple re-sync makes no difference.  Apparently, I went to sleep at 6pm and got up at 2am.  Moreover, it's 'corrected' falsely the 36 hours that were correct, sleep, activity, exercise.  This is clearly a SW bug: rather than me parking this brand-name device in a drawer, can the App feature be re-instated where the owner was allowed to know better what time zone they're in?

New attempt.  Cleared User Data from the Fitbit: this appeared to result in a Factory Reset as well as the date went back to 2020 and I could not force a factory reset in this state using the side button whilst on charge.  Unpaired and removed the Charge 4 from my Fitbit Account.  Started afresh by adding a new device.  New paring code for BT.  However, I believe I have fixed it.  Timzone settings are in the Phone Fitbit App not Settings on the Fitbit.  I turned Off Automatic Location and Automatic time zone, then set to GMT and UK, then turned on Automatic Time Zone.  First it sync'd, then the clock jumped to GMT.
