Hi @MazzaClare. Welcome to the community forums.
Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding sleep.
Please take into consideration that there are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:
In addition, if you continue to experience the same difficulty, try to perform a restart following the steps listed here, this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar. Please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days.

I too have the same problem - records partial sleep patterns for a few days, then full sleep patterns for a couple of days...I have no reason to think that I am sleeping in a way that prevents ful data capture, the battery is good and I sleep for around 7 hours....
I rather suspect that there is something in the way that sleep that prevents the FitBit from properly analysing my sleep patterns.
I first noticed the problem shorlty before my FitBit strted sending me notiifications of irregualr heart beat patterns (indicative of Atrial Fibrulation). Duly saw my GP and, after a day procudeure and medication. my heart rythms returned to normal and the FitBit resumed reporting full sleep patterns.
FitBit has again started swapping between partial and full reporting, so I am nervously wondering if the notifications of irregular heart beat wil resume.
Have seen nothing in FitBits advice which supports my theory - perhps the FitBit moderator could comment?
