Today I attempted to charge my Charge 4 but when I went to check on it I found that it was buzzing for a few seconds followed by a smiley face blinking twice. I have attempted to reboot it by holding down the buy while in the charger for eight seconds. What should I do to correct this?

@Connaught , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.
Please on the Charge 4 , if possible, swipe the clock face until you see the settings app.
Tapp on Settings> About >Clear user Data.
Then open the Fitbit app and try setting the Charge 4 as a new device.
Hope this helps.

I think it does the smiley face when it resets itself.
I’m going to assume the smiley face is all there is, that it doesn’t allow you to swipe right to the “settings” app like the “solution” says? I know I’ve had the smiley face before, it usually goes away.
I wonder if perhaps the charge got so low, and you just need to leave on the charger for longer and it’ll go away. Or perhaps you didn’t clip it in quite properly? The Charge 4 is the hardest tracker to get into the charger that I’ve ever had, and I’ve had lots. The number of times I’ve put it in backwards because I can’t see which side the button is on properly. In my defence, I keep the charger behind my armchair, so it’s hard to see in general. Now I always check to see the charging battery picture when I put it in. I think I once got the smiley face when I picked it up while charging, because it had become dislodged from the charger after a few minutes, and so it only had enough charge to flash a smiley face.
If this is not the issue, then it might be something more serious. If it’s bricked and less than a year since you bought it, Fitbit support will send you a new one free of charge, otherwise you will get a hefty discount on a new device from Fitbit.Com. So it’s worth at least going through the motions, and trying what the moderator suggested here. Then report back to them it didn’t work, or maybe it will, but I had my doubts as soon as they said scroll right on the smiley face screen, because I don’t think that screen allows it, but I mght be wrong.
