Charge 4 won't connect to my phone anymore

I've had my charge 4 paired with my new phone for a couple weeks. Starting a couple days ago, the app no longer connects to the device. I've restarted both the phone and the tracker (both the button restart and reboot from settings) multiple times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I unpaired the tracker and tried to add it as a new device. I get the four digit number to enter and nothing connects. It just says its taking longer than usual and stops trying.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Android Version 13

Bluetooth is on and I see the tracker in the list of available devices.

I had to clear user data from the tracker to get it to connect, which is what I was trying to avoid knowing I'd lose the couple days worth of data since the last time I was able to sync. Once the device connected, I see I've lost 11 days worth of data from my account. Not a fan. The data was in my app until I unpaired.

Hi there, @GeorgeBronx. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 4 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, I'd suggest making sure that your Charge 4 is no longer connected to your old mobile device as this might be preventing your Fitbit device to properly connect to your new phone.

With that being said, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 4 from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 4 again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

I have tried all of the suggested steps, as well as deleting and reinstalling the app and redoing set up of my device. I've even turned off the Bluetooth on my laptop to make absolutely sure that Fitbit - Phone is the only Bluetooth running in the house.

It still won't connect.

It hasn't synced since the morning of 15 June and its now mid afternoon on 21 June.

I'm on a Samsung A24.
