Charge 4 won't pair or sync anymore

Hi, my Charge 4 which I've been using fine for ages has decided to stop syncing with the app.

I had stopped using it in May, but decided to use again today. Charged it up and it wouldn't sync no matter what I did.

Ended up just deleting the device and trying to set it up again. My phone sees the device, but won't get past the part where I enter the code. I've tried disconnecting my Bluetooth, resetting the device, followed all the instructions I've been able to find, but it's still not pairing.

Would love some help as I've been successfully using this for ages, not sure what happened!

Hi there, @girlafraid82. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 4 before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following in the order listed (even if some of them you've tried already):

  • Unpair your Charge 4 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 4.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 4
  • Once your Charge 4 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately the steps didn't work, but I decided to go one step further and delete my user data from the device completely. This has allowed it to sync so it's working again!

This happens to me too! Keep an eye on it and make sure it’s syncing to your phone each night. If it isn’t then you may need to erase your data again. It’s a pain.
