Hello, First time poster here.
I bought three Fitbit Charge HR's for my three girls to use (12 and under). The devices work well and they are really into tracking their steps everyday, so much so that they wanted to set up an account for themselves. Tonight, as I've tried to do just that, I've learned (or at least it appears to be the case) that you can only set up a child's account with an Ace device? Can anybody explain that? I understand that the Ace may be IDEAL and specifically designed for kids but why do I not have the option of syncing their accounts with another device? The Charge HR fits them well and counts their steps. Is this really about selling more Aces?!!! Disappointed and, unless someone on here can convince me that this makes sense, we'll probably look at devices made by other companies. Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome to the forums!
This is the internet rule not Fitbits
"Persons under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, are not permitted to access or use the Fitbit Service unless their parent has consented in accordance with applicable law"
Hope that helps

That doesn’t really answer the question. I have the same problem. I want to set up a kid’s account for my daughter but with an Inspire not an Ace. Why isn’t it possible to set up a kid’s account with anything but an Ace?

I have done a chat to Fitbit twice now. Last time two weeks ago and again tonight. It turns out the software has an error in it which isn’t allowing parents to set up devices for their kids. We have brand new ace devices which can’t be used due to this. Their advice is to sit tight and wait, with no advice regarding timescale. Shame on your Fitbit for continuing to sell items you know are catering to kids that need them set up via their parents accounts which is impossible. The team have agreed we can’t use the devices until the software issue is sorted. They have no idea how long.
