Connected GPS not working

I have a mate 20 pro. I can sync my steps but I can't get the connected GPS to work. I get no phone symbol at all. The thing is I that it works for bike mode. Tried all the usual steps regarding battery optimization etc etc etc

Thanks for taking the time to check our battery optimization steps prior posting. First, I'd like to let you know that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is not listed as a supported device with our products and services, therefore, you can encounter certain connection difficulties with specific features. That said, can you please try with a different mobile device and let us know if you continue experiencing GPS difficulties? In the meantime, you can try our restart procedure to refresh your Charge 2 performance, however, I'm unable to ensure you that this will resolve your concern due to the previously mentioned.
