Screen flashing Spring like columns and Then just blackOut.

It worked fine yesterday and charged fine last night so I’m not sure why this is happening today ???

Hi @dazshorty, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to try our restart process follow the next steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • Charge 2—press and hold the button on your tracker for 4 seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Disconnect your tracker from the charging cable.

Looking forward to your reply. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Same thing...

The display worked out one day, the next day it's blank.

The green lights are still flashing on the back, it is still tracking steps (seen in the Fitbit app on phone)

but the display is blank.

I tried troubleshooting steps, of plugging in, holding button in for 4 seconds (it vibrates) then looking for image on screen both before and after unplugging - NOTHING.

Also tried resetting clock from the Fitbit App on my phone - NOTHING.

Also went through troubleshooting with a CSR via chat (basically same steps I already tried), still NOTHING.

The CSR offered 20 % discount on a new purchase.  So, basically, they want to sell a new product and increase the technology trash in the world.

This is apparently a known issue/defect and nothing is being done about it. Sad to know this!

I guess I will have to buy a new fitness wearable and now not sure I will trust the Fitbit company as my next wearable....

I hope someone has a fix for this... PLEASE!!!

Same thing. Works OK on the phone but no display on the unit. Whats the point of a watch when you can't see the time.

To RicardoFitbit:  Like the other respondents in this thread, I have tried the procedure you suggested without results.  I have tried the soft and hard reboots according to instructions found on this site, also to no avail.  I know other Fitbit Charge 2 owners with the same problem.  The sudden and complete failure of the watch display seems to be typical of the Charge 2 model after 2-4 years of use.  What does Fitbit Inc. intend to do about it?

No idea they haven’t contacted me & from other posts it appears they are aware of the issue & only offer a flight discount on buying a new Fitbit... which I’m sure will lead to the same issues again unfortunately:(
