I have a fitbit charge 4. I have the following devices: an iPhone 5S running iOS 12.4, a Mac Mini running Mojave, a MacBook Air running Big Sur — forget it! and if all else fails a laptop running Windows 10. Can I use any of these devices with my fitbit??? The manual and various website pages give conflicting stories.

Hi @Bazza43 setting up requires a compatible smartphone with iOS 13 and above. You can read the documentation on the Charge 4 in this area, including a dedicated article just about setting up - click to go there

Thank you. I look forward to some clarification. At the moment, the only way I can monitor what is going on is through my wife's phone by means of which the fitbit was set up, but that is not satisfactory in the long run.

As our friend mentioned, let me explain that your Charge 4 was optimized to work with Android phone, iPhone, or iPad. However, it's not possible to connect it with Windows 10 or Mac devices. If possible, try borrowing a compatible device from a relative or a friend in order to complete the set up process and sync your data. To learn more about this tracker, I'd suggest reviewing the User Manual.
I understand your point of view about what it's described in our webpage, and apologize for the confusion. This has been reported to our team so they can correct the specifications of our Fitbit devices. Your feedback is truly appreciated and please know it hasn't gone unnoticed.

LizzyFitbit said "try borrowing a compatible device from a relative or a friend in order to complete the set up process". My daughter set up the device for me, and as my iPhone wasn't compatible, borrowed my wife's Android Phone to complete the setup.
I have downloaded the user manual, it took me two goes to realize that it was a .pdf, so now I'm set with that.
However, it looks like I will be unable to keep my device synced with any device available to me at present. I do have an iPad, (when I can find it :-(!) but do not know as yet whether it's compatible. My daughter (who gave it to me) says it's later than the iPhone, so maybe OK.

You're welcome, and thanks for taking the suggestions shared in my post. I'm glad your daughter help you with the set up process. About your iPad, as long as it's running Apple iOS 13.4 or higher, it should be okay as you'll be able to install the Fitbit app and sync all your data. I hope you can enjoy the experience with your Charge 4! 😊

@Bazza43 I have confirmed that my Charge 5 will absolutely sync with Windows 10, assuming the laptop has bluetooth of course. I just did it today and was happy to discover it works. I think it's possible you can't *setup* the Fitbit on Windows, which is where LizzyFitbit's confusion is coming from, but I can't confirm that as mine was already setup with a phone.
Again, @LizzyFitbit please update and revise your post. You are telling people they can't sync with Windows 10, and the absolutely can!
