Exercise mode not tracking my activity

So I've had my fitbit charge hr for a few years now and I've always used the exercise mode (aka pressing the side button) to track my exercise activities because I can't really rely on fitbit to track things like pilates or weights because their automatic tracking only starts for things that are mainly cardio. On march 9, it suddenly stopped tracking my exercises, although it did sync my steps in. There's nothing wrong functionally with the side button as far as I can tell, holding a press causes it to vibrate and start the exercise timer and holding a press again will stop the timer but it's just not syncing in the activity.

I've tried to read up on other posts here to see if anyone's solved the issue. So far I've resetted my fitbit, I've done the 3 times in a row suggestion, logged in and out of my account, toggled bluetooth, shut my phone off, etc. If it was solely about the fitbit not syncing, I would give a few more tries and wait a bit longer... sometimes it just doesn't sync (i assume server is just down completely and will be fixed) but because it synced my steps, it seems more like something got messed up with fitbit reading the exercise sync specifically.

Anyone have a solution or can confirm the problem? I've already tried to chat with a representative. Not help at all, kept saying my exercises didn't reach the thresholds and repeating it. Never did I have to worry about setting thresholds nor did I touch my settings at all recently. There's a reason why I don't rely on thresholds as I explained the beginning and would rather use exercise mode to track my activity. I'm using a google pixel 2.

Hello, I've also recently experience the same issue. However unlike AnnieJ23, my past activities were automatically triggered by the device and it captured correctly all the time. However as recent as 2 weeks ago, I realize that all the activities were not captured in the activity log, but the app captures & charts the heart rate and steps normally. My routine, path and timings of the activity is the same constant, so it's baffling why this is occuring. The activity log either captures only a portion of the exercise (typically +/-20mins out of the 1hrs+, or completely nothing at all. Hoping someone can advice what can be done, as it's baffling and frustrating. Thanks!
