Fitbit Charge 2 won't show text message content

I have a Google Pixel 2xl.  Ever since the latest update to my phone, my Fitbit won't show the content of the test message, only who sent it.  I use this with work and it has really become problematic.  My fear is that Fitbit is trying to force me to upgrade.  Also, my fear is that if I buy the latest Fitbit, it will have the same problem because I've had this problem in the past and fixed it, but now NONE of the previous fixes work.  And there are a LOT of fixes out there, none of which work.

Help in California or let me know if you have the same problem.  That narrows it down to Fitbit is forcing us to upagrade...arghhhhhhhh !!!!!

This is a known bug that fitbit have been looking into. Keep an eye on the following thread where they are making updates on progress with fixing it:

Hi,

is there a way i can stop my fitbit versus showing content of a message when sent directly to my screen. i would like to keep this private.

ideally i want to see i have a message and then have the option to read, instead of the first few line and sender info on my screen.
