Fitbit Charge 3 black screen

Hi


My wife's Fitbit has entered a black hole.  I've read up on everything and tried everything but no dice.  

 

1. Watch will vibrate when you press button.

 

2. Have attempted restart with 15-second hold.  Taken off charger, green light is on.  Placed back on charger: nothing.

 

3. Smiley face will show, then nothing.

 

4.  Occasionally we will see a bar go about 1/4 of the way across the middle, then see a smiley face, then NOTHING.

 

This is only a little over a year old.  Please advise, thank you.
