I have a couple of issues which may or may not be related but both seem to have started since O/S upgrade to Android 11
1. GPS Tracking now only works if the phone is unlocked
2. Notification to the Fitbit device only work if encryption is turned off in the app
Can someone please help. Things have been great up till now

Hi snoop,
I had a similar issue with the charge 2 when I upgraded phone to a Samsung galaxy s9.
These are some of the things I did and it eventually started working again. I'm not sure if any of the individual steps specifically resolve the issue but they might be worth a try:
On galaxy s9
1. Go to settings - search for 'optimise battery usage' ensure 'Fitbit' and 'Maps' are not optimised.
2. Go to settings - apps - fitbit - and ensure background activity is allowed.
3. Go to settings - apps - maps - and ensure background activity is allowed.
4. from pull down menu double from home screen, double click on location, click 'details', click 'improve accuracy' and ensure wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning are enabled.
5.in fitbit app, click 'account' button at top right hand corner, click 'charge 2', click 'notifications' and enable all notifications.
6. on fitbit device, before walk/run/cycle, ensure notifications are turned on and device is synced to phone.
