Hi,
Hoping someone can help. Have seen a few posts regarding this but unable to see a clear resolution.
I have recently upgraded my mobile to a galaxy s9 and now the connected GPS does not appear to be working when my phone screen is locked.
Maps of my runs/walks are showing as straight lines (as crow flies) between points were i have unlocked the phone screen.
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance

Hi folks,
I think I may have resolved the issue on my s9 although it is only the most recent walk that has worked this morning and I haven't been out since.
These are the steps i took;
On galaxy s9
1. Go to settings - search for 'optimise battery usage' ensure 'Fitbit' and 'Maps' are not optimised.
2. Go to settings - apps - fitbit - and ensure background activity is allowed.
3. Go to settings - apps - maps - and ensure background activity is allowed.
4. from pull down menu double from home screen, double click on location, click 'details', click 'improve accuracy' and ensure wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning are enabled.
5.in fitbit app, click 'account' button at top right hand corner, click 'charge 2', click 'notifications' and enable all notifications.
6. on fitbit device, before walk/run/cycle, ensure notifications are turned on and device is synced to phone.
It may be that not all these steps are required for gps to stay connected, or it could be that I have been lucky.
If it keeps working I am not going back to trial and error combinations of the above.

Hope this helps - let me know if you manage to get this to work for you.
Update November 2020
I recently started having this issue again following an android system update.
It took me a while to get it fixed but what I had to do, in addition to the above, was:
7. Go to settings>location>app permissions >fitbit>permissions >location. Ensure set to always on.
8. Do step 7 for maps.
9. Turn bluetooth off.
10. Force stop the fitbit app from settings.
11. Turn bluetooth back on.
