Since update I can no longer see current heart rate on dashboard, just - - bpm, it is tracking and I can see resting HR and look at past data. I’ve reset Fitbit, and made sure app updated, logged out etc as suggested but still can’t see actual HR, any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply and the clarification @Kath0601! Let me explain to you that if you want to see your heart rate on the Fitbit app, your Charge 2 should be syncing so you can see your heart rate data live, and also you have to make sure that your BPM are being tracked at the same time. In other words, make sure that you are wearing it correctly. 🙂 If after that, you still getting the "--" instead of your heart rate, on the Fitbit app turn ON the "all day sync" option.
Let me know how it goes!

Hey @Kath0601, it is great to see new faces around! Let me ask you something, on the tracker itself, can you see your current heart rate, or you are also looking these 2 dashes "--"? If the tracker isn't working neither, let me explain to you that occasionally it has difficulty finding a signal, typically due to the tracker's fit. For example, wearing your band tightly may constrict blood flow in your wrist and affect the signal. We also recommend experimenting with how high you place the tracker on your wrist. When you're not exercising, wearing the tracker just above the wrist bone--as you would a watch--typically works fine. However, moving the tracker up a couple inches can be helpful during high-intensity exercises or exercises that cause you to bend your wrist frequently. If you haven't already done so, please review our recommendations for wear and other tips at this post.
If you're wearing the tracker correctly and the heart rate setting isn't turned Auto, try changing the setting (either Off to On or On to Auto) and then syncing your tracker. The change won't take affect until you sync.
Let me know if that works!

I'm having similar problem and have tried your suggestions without success. Know I'm wearing it correctly because the heart rate shows on the face of Charge 2 just not on any dashboards (have tried on relatively new iPhone, an old iPad and a MacBookPro running 10.10.5). Steps and sleep are displaying fine on all 3 devices... just missing heart rate. That part just quit working 3 days ago.
Also cannot get real time heart rate to show any more

Hi, mine is sorted now, I turned blue tooth on and off and reconnected Fitbit, prior to this it wasn’t allowing me to select ‘all day sync’ - once I was able to turn this on it worked again.
Hope you manage to sort it, it’s frustrating when things stop working as expected!

Yes I had the same problem. I unpaired it to my iPhone turned off Bluetooth and paired them again. Started working

I had same problem after last update. Prior to the update the current heart rate displayed on the dashboard above the basal heart rate. After update, only basal heart rate. This was with all day sync turned off.
To fix I turned on all day sync. On first try this failed because charge 2 was already Bluetooth connected to iPhone. I had to forget device on the iPhone and then retry to turn on all day sync. It then asked to pair and paired successfully. The current heart rate with beating heart now displays on dashboard.
I then turned off all day sync. The current heart rate still works, just as before the update. Whatever was done with this update to cause this problem should be undone. Multiple previous updates caused no such problem.

WRONG...my fitbit charge 3 syncs and the app does not sync the heartrate. When fitbit did the new update it destroyed everything. Customer care is worthless.

Same problem. My Charge has started being erratic on sleep tracking. The heart rate shows on the device, but doesn’t register on the app dashboard. And my afternoon walk which has always been tracked did not get registered in the Exercise folder today. The heart rate was recorded in the HR dashboard file but not as exercise. Seeing other posts leads me to believe Fitbit has a few bugs here. Sleep and exercise are MY priority data points so this thing has become worthless. I restarted the Charge 3. Disconnected and re-paired the device to my iPad. Turned Bluetooth off and on again. Nothing seems to stimulate anything

Hi I’m having the same issues with the live heart rate not showing on the Fitbit App’s dashboard. I do see the live heart on my Charge 3, just not on the app. It just the resting heart rate on the app.

For anyone still having this issue.
Same thing happened to mine. I did all the suggestions and none worked.
Then I got it working quite randomly!
I went to heart rate and clicked off and then to on. Then I went to notifications and I got a message box that said Fitbit needs to pair your iPhone click ok to pair. I clicked ok and it’s working now! I have no idea what happened because my phone was paired. This worked for me hope it helps!!

All Day Sync is on and has long been so. Since reset and new logon yesterday 2019/Oct/07, dashboard no longer shows current heartrate.

The suggestions might not work for most people. I got same problem and solved it on my own. Had to go to Bluetooth, find the device, the “forget” the device. The pair it again.

The official answer is correct (turn on always sync on your phone app) - except that it doesn't always work. Sometimes, you then also have to turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone, turn it back ON, then re-connect/find your device in the Bluetooth settings. Bring the Fitbit app back up, and swipe down to sync now. That tends to re-activate your live/current heart rate on the main app screen.
