How to prove the lost Fitbit is mine?

Hello All..

Unfortunately I lost my Fitbit Charge 2 a couple of weeks ago and recently found at the train station - Lost and Found office. I tried syncing my device but my device is not showing on the app anymore. May be it's due to extended period of time the device was disconnected from my phone? Apparently they want some proof that this is mine. I have the original box with me. Is there anyway to prove that this is mine.

Kindly help.

There are a few reasons that a tracker can get removed from your account.

1 when a user removes it.

2 when the user replaces it with another tracker.

3 when the finder attaches it to their account.

Without knowing what type of Fitbit it is. I can not say it will be possible. You will need to charge the tracker then go to settings, if your model has it. Now tap help. Some models have an about under help with the serial number. This would match the box.

You are asking a question about your tracker on the App help board without mentioning the type of tracker. This limits the ability to help.

Do you have any apps installed that would point to you? Maybe certain music. If you have headphones that where once connected, just turning the headphones on will cause the tracker to connect them.

Thank you. "You are asking a question about your tracker on the App help board without mentioning the type of tracker" --> Is this not mentioned on the very first line on the post?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Danfit2. I'll be glad to assist you with your Charge 2 proof of ownership question.

You might have accidentally upaired your device from your account. Where did you buy your tracker? Do you have a purchase receipt? That would be enough proof.

Thank you for your input and comments @Rich_Laue.

Hi @AndreaFitbit

Tracker is at the Lost and Found office and is not currently not showing under my fitbit app on the phone. Could you tell me how do I get the serial number of the tracker so that I can match with the box? Do I need to sync first? Just curious, if the receipt alone is sufficient, won't anybody with the receipt go get it?

Thanks for getting back to us and for your questions @Danfit2. I'll be happy to continue assisting you.

Serial number doesn't appear on the device. What you can do to prove the device is yours is pairing it to your account again as a replacement device and calling Fitbit to prove that current user is the same as the owner of the original account.
