How to setup a Charge 3 on a Mac computer?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Got my Charge 3 as a Christmas present and wanted to finally set it up, but I tried to do it as suggested with the Fitbit connect software but the Charge 3 is not listed there. In a briefly available screen it is written Mobile only.

Anyone knows how to setup a Charge 3 on a Mac computer? My iPhone 5 does not support iOS11 so I cannot use the App. Any ideas for a work around?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Community, @Run1978.

If you don’t have a compatible phone or tablet, you can set up and sync most Fitbit devices on your computer with Fitbit Connect.

Fitbit Connect is a free software application that lets your Fitbit device sync its data with your fitbit.com dashboard. To learn more about the fitbit.com dashboard, see the article: About the fitbit.com dashboard.

If your computer isn’t Bluetooth-enabled, you must use a wireless sync dongle to set up and sync your Fitbit device. Most Fitbit devices don’t come with a dongle, but you can buy one from the Fitbit Store, but I recommend using the Fitbit app if you can.

To install Fitbit Connect and set up your device:

  1. If your computer isn’t Bluetooth-enabled, insert a wireless sync dongle into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Go to http://www.fitbit.com/setup.
  3. Scroll down and click the pink Download button.
  4. After the download completes, double-click the downloaded file to start installation.
  5. After installing, when prompted, choose Set up a New Fitbit Device
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a Fitbit account and connect your device.

If you have trouble, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂
