IFTTT not triggering on Sleep Logging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a smart thermostat that has Home, Away, and Sleep modes.  I don't keep a regular schedule, and tend to sleep on the Living Room sofa or in the Bedroom.  I was trying to use the IFTTT app to set my thermostat to "Sleep" mode if my Fitbit reports that I am sleeping.

I had no problems defining the "recipe", which includes the Fitbit trigger "New Sleep Logged", however, after falling asleep and subsequently waking up, my IFTTT app reports that the activity never ran.

I have not gotten any errors in the setup of the IFTTT integration (nothing to indicate it failed).  It simply has not been triggered.  Is there something I need to know about the "New Sleep Logged" trigger so it can be used properly?

EDIT:

Since posting this issue, I have logged into my Fitbit account and checked my privacy settings.  The sleep graph information was set to PRIVATE.  I don't know if this overrides the permissions given to the IFTTT app, which clearly state that IFTTT does have access to sleep data.  As a test, I've changed my sleep graph privacy settings to PUBLIC, but wanted to know if this is necessary, since I'd rather keep my data as private as possible.

EDIT #2:

Don't know if it's a coincidence, but after changing the privacy settings, the IFTTT activity was triggered, but it failed!!!  In addition, none of my sleep today has been logged on my fitbit.  I saw in other threads that if the sleep is fitfull, it might not register, but it was no different today than any other day as far as I can tell.

If your sleep wasn't logged today, then IFTTT would not have triggered.

I just checked my Google calender and my sleep is being sent.

My first thought would be to open the IFTTT app, bring up the affected recipe and tap check now. If it fails IFTTT usually will prompt the user through the fix.

Does any of your other IFTTT Fitbit recipes work?
