Walking with a pram so I use GPS to track however lots of similar distanced walks have such a wide range in step count. Going from 2000 odd steps to 8000 odd. Please help its driving me nuts. Theres next to no point in using it if it's so inaccurate.

Wrist-worn trackers cannot actually tell what your legs and hips are doing; they can only infer steps from the usual swinging of the arms as in normal walking.  When the wrist is held steady, as pushing a pram, steps often cannot be detected.

But you are still getting calories burned based on heart rate.

If step count is more important to you, you can probably get a better step count by putting tracker in a pocket, but then lose heart rate data during that time.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
