I was just wondering if the issue with the message not showing up has been resolved. Is there anything I can try to get it back up and working?

I am having the same problem. I stopped receiving messages several days ago. I made sure the Notification setting was on, both on the app and the fitbit. I even tried to send a Test Call Notification from the app, but got nothing.

The problem with text messages showing the sender but not the message is still ongoing. Keep an eye on the following thread where fitbit are posting updates on progress:
