Seems to be a recent issue that the charge 4’s are losing GPS connection and not calculating distance correctly. It’s happened me every day now and it’s very annoying.

Are you using steps to determine distance or GPS? For steps to accurately reflect mileage you need to customize your stride length. If you're using GPS it should be highly accurate unless the tracker disconnects from your phone which is a known problem that Fitbit hasn't bothered to fix in 2 years or more.

With me, I walk every day and know the distance of certain walks - if I do the same walk i would have always got a similar distance …. Slight discrepancy by very similar. Now because on every walk the gps disconnects I could now go on what was always a 6km walk but now shows at anything from 4.5 to 5 km …. Incredibly frustrating.

Thank you for the reply. Yes I use the steps for distance… but I also use the gps if on a longer outside walk. Otherwise it’s in the treadmill, it seems to me that my Fitbit use to be more accurate with miles/distance.
Cheers & blessings

Mine is showing 0.02 miles for a 5 mile run earlier this am, same thing for a run on Friday - I ran 4 miles but the app is only showing 0.01, and no pace info, it just shows _ _’_ _”. My run from last Sunday is displaying correct so seems to be a problem from an app update this week?

I see this is a common problem but I don’t see solutions.  My Fitbit Charge 4 was a gift 7-1-21.  It really started acting up about 7-1-22 or a little earlier.  For the most part the main problem I had was syncing.

Today 7/31/22 I walked on a measured track for 6 miles. My Fitbit says I walked 4.92.  My step count has dropped from 2500 per mile to around 2000.

Do I try to do a factory reset, which I have yet to figured out how to do, or just toss my Fitbit?   What type of device should I get next that has similar features?  Thanks.
