Not holding a charge

After wearing my Fitbit swimming with my kids last week, it basically died halfway through the afternoon. I plugged it in and it later came back on, but had to charge all night to get a full battery back. I wore it for a couple hours the next day and it was dead again. Now, there are black lines through the screen and it goes dead within a few hours of removing from the charger regardless of having a smiley face when removing it. Also wondering if there is corrosion or breakdown on the charging pins because it is intermittent and "positional" when it is plugged in.

Update since yesterday morning: attempted the 8 second and 15 second resets. It now will display only the smiley face (with lines through it) while plugged in, and appears dead when not plugged in, not responsive to touch and will not vibrate. Very disappointed, especially when reading 4 pages of people having similar problems in 24 hours! Also, nobody has contacted me regarding my problems from customer service! Seriously Fitbit, get your act together or this girl is switching brands!!!
