My Charge 2 stopped receiving notifications from my phone some time ago. I have tried many solutions found online: reinstalled Fitbit app, uninstalled and reinstalled tracker, checked all connection settings, restarted bluetooth, restarted phone, I even did a full factory reset of my phone. I have checked the list, and my phone is listed as compatible.
As I said, I have previously received notifications from this phone, right up until I didn't.

Seems odd that your device is not receiving notifications as the way we designed it, thank you for trying some troubleshooting steps prior posting. First, I'd like to know if you're not receiving any type of notifications or just one of them? In other words, are you receiving phone call notifications on your device but text notifications and vice versa? Just as you stated, your Samsung Galaxy A8 is listed as a supported device with a products and services, therefore, I recommend you to check our help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

I have tried all the things suggested in the self-help articles, to no avail. As far as I can tell, settings are as they should be.
