I reset my Fitbit as it was not recording my hourly steps. The reset worked well for that but now my text and phone notifications are not coming in on my Fitbit.

@Harron, is your Fitbit tracker a Charge 2?  If so, check to ensure that Notifications did not get disabled on it.  Press & Hold the side button for about 3 seconds to toggle Notifications from Off to On.

Thank you SO much! I didn't know about the side button's ability to affect notifications! I really appreciate it!  How did you learn this? Is there a place I need to do some reading to learn more tricks?  Thanks again!

Hi HuddyBuddy, glad I could help. I learned it totally by accident when I
put it on the charger I accidentally pressed the button a second too long
and saw the "Notifications off" scroll. The only other tip I have is there
seems to be a quirk in 'activity' minutes credit. I do the 10,000 steps a
day and try to do at least 30 minutes of it in cardio; sometimes it will
just not give me credit for those steps as an activity (and I did set it to
use steps as activity.) After awhile I noticed that on the days that I do
5-10 minutes with weights it gives me those minutes and adds my walking
minutes! So if I see my steps are not being credited, I do the weights and
then get them all. Hope that helps someone.

I've learned that losing notifications in this way on my Charge2 happens
mostly when connecting the charger. If you don't place it so that the
charger is aligned exactly with the button before clamping it on, the
charger can depress the button for just a couple of seconds which is long
enough to toggle notifications OFF, and it happens so quickly you don't
really notice it. Maybe they should consider a design modification in this
area 🙂

I am not getting my messages or does not show name of contact on phone calls. My screens just says "message" but no message to read. When a phone call is coming in it says "unknown". Also I do not have it hooked up to any music and it gives a name of artist and seems it is using up my battery charge much faster. HELP!!

I'm having the same issue with my Alta HR. I changed phones and now my text and phone alerts are not being received. Checked all the settings on my Moto z4 as well as the Fitbit app and they all seem to be correct.
