This is a simple comment about the Fitbit Charge 4. I really liked my Fitbit Charge 4 when I received it as a birthday gift from my wife. It worked great when I first started using it. So when my Charge 4 band first broke, I immediately bought a new band on Amazon (because Fitbit's band quality had already shown it lacked quality). I ended up using only one side of the new band because Fitbit's old band was still intact on one side. That worked great until the part of the Fitbit Charge 4 body that actually holds the band in place also broke. I really wanted to keep using my Fitbit so I glued that part of the band directly to the defective Fitbit Charge 4 body part in order to hold the band in place so I could keep using it on daily walks and jogs. That worked well for a few weeks until the original half of the silicone Fitbit band split all the way across its lower half.
I called Fitbit's customer service and explained all of the foregoing. Fitbit's response was to offer me a discount on a new brand new Fitbit because I was beyond the Fitbit warranty. It wouldn't have been very smart on my part to buy a new Fitbit after experiencing so many problems with Fitbit's band and distance tracker body. I've had watches that I've kept for years and have never had any problems with the band, but for some reason this appears to be an ongoing problem with Fitbits. So even though I like how well the Fitbit app works, I am now actively researching different brand distance trackers and smart watches because Fitbit (either its management or its engineers) appear unwilling or technically unable to fix the problem.

Hi @JamesUIII many who have had this happen have purchased a "protective cover band for Charge 4" from Amazon. It takes your pebble piece and encompasses it, so you can still wear it on your wrist. Might be worth checking into.
