I just got a Fitbit charge 3 and tried connecting it with my oppo R15. It finds the device but throws an error when trying to sync with it. Tried everything, Bluetooth on/off phone on/off all that stuff. Nothing works. I don't understand how it isn't compatible with an R15 since it's a newish phone yet much older versions seem to be compatible????

Manufacturers add skins and other custom tweaks to Android that may interfere. Fitbit tries to test as many phones as possible and address this in the app to make them compatible. Unfortunately, there are way too many phones out there to test. However, an app update to address another issue in the future could possibly get it working for you.
