Hello @jboi44. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the detailed information. If you're an admin of the closed group, you can edit the group’s details, delete inappropriate content, add or remove members, and delete the group if they are the only member. For more information about Closed groups, I recommend visiting the following link: What should I know about closed groups in the Fitbit Community?

I hope this link contains the information you're looking for.

See you around.

@grace3232  and @jboi44  I can see from your profiles that you are relatively new users.  This is a semantics issue.  Fitbit used to let users create groups that were part of the web dashboard.  They were all open, searchable, and anyone could join any group.  Fitbit got rid of the web based groups when they moved all the groups to the app.  There are still open groups, like Healthy Eating and Cardio.  When you create a group of your friends or coworkers, it is "closed" because someone needs to be invited to join.  There is no search function for these groups.  Perhaps this would have made more sense if the groups were called Public and Private.

I hope this helps.

So if I understand the thread, if I create a group it will be closed (private) as default and there is now way to make it open (public).  That is too bad.  Whole purpose is to meet similar interested folks.
