Resting Heart Rate Unreliable and Retroactively Changes

I have a Charge 3 HR and I've noticed for years, even back when I had the charge 2 and the charge 1, that my live heart rate at rest will often be lower than my calculated resting heart rate. Additionally, I've noticed that fitbit will retroactively change my resting heart rate for previously recorded days in the week as a means to possibly 'smooth out' my resting heart rate graph. Is anyone able to share with me in very specific technical detail how this works? I eat a very low calorie, carb restrictive, diet Sunday - Thursday, with ample physical activity. Friday & Saturday however, I take it easy and I eat and drink as much as I want of whatever I want. In one weekend I put on anywhere from 8-15 lbs of water weight which I lose over the following week. My resting heart rate on Sunday is low to mid 60s, and by friday morning it's usually down to mid 50s. What is killing me is; that I'll hit say... 54 bpm on Friday Morning but by Sunday after binging and boozing for 2 days I'll shoot up to 63 pbm. But Then... the fitbit app will raise my friday resting heart rate from 54 to 55. Also as mentioned earlier my heartrate at rest is consistently lower than what fitbit has calculated my RHR to be for that particular day. I would love to share some screen shots from my phone but the forum is saying I don't have permission to upload images. This has been driving me crazy for years and I've seen others post about it with no real answers from fitbit. can someone please finally shed some light on how this works? Has this been fixed in later tracker models?
