Screen Issues/ Exercise not recording properly

Over the past several months, I've noticed the screen on my Charge 3 is very dim. A few days ago it went completely blank. I reached out to the live chat and was given instructions for a solution which didn't work; plugging it in, holding the button until I got a smiley face etc. Also, I ran 5 km yesterday and it only recorded 1.48 km. This is my 3rd Fitbit in 5 years! I can't seem to get more then 1.5 years out of one before it dies on me. I love the product but the quality is terrible in my opinion. This will be my last Fitbit purchase unfortunately.
