Sleep Tracking is very irratic. It may get it right once a week. Sometimes it starts tracking at the correct time then stops for a couple hours and then continues. Other times it starts tracking several hours after I fall asleep!!!!

@Matt53 , Nice to see you here. Thank you for sharing your experience with the sleep recording feature.
The following conditions can prevent the recording of sleep stages:
- You record your sleep using the app instead of the tracker's automatic sleep detection.
- The tracker's battery is almost empty when you go to bed (below 25%). This prevents a regular recording of the heart rate.
- You use the metal bracelet while sleeping
- You sleep less than 3 hours.
- The bracelet is too loose or too tight on the wrist. You should be able to put your index finger between the bracelet and your arm without much resistance, so that your heart rate is recorded regularly and the sleep phases can be recognized.
If you tap the recording that doesn't show you any sleep stages, you should get a message explaining why you didn't get any. What is this message?
See you around.

collected for 1.5 hours, stopped for 1.5 hours then collected until i woke up!!

@Matt53 , Nice to see you back. Please go to the records and tap on any of those where you see the simplified view of your sleep record.
On the bottom you'll see a message with the cause why you see the simplified records. What does it say?
Do you log anything manually, any nap or short sleep?
Try to lower down your heart rate before you go to sleep maybe it is too high so that the tracker cannot detect that you are sleeping.
Also try to wear the Charge 4 during your sleep so that the heart rate LEDs are on the under side of your wrist. There is a better place to register the heart rate.
Hope this helps.

Juan, The simplified record says, We need more than 3 hours to reliably calculate your Sleep Stages.
I tried wearing it on the bottom side of my wrist. No change. I don't log anything manually. I would
think my settings are correct because it will track all night every once in a while. But it still either starts recording
several hours after i go to sleep or stops recording for 2 to 3 hours in the middle of the night. I have Sleep Apnea
and don't know if that would cause this issue!
Thanks
Matt

@Matt53 , Thank you for your reply and further information.
It seems that your sleeps record is being interrupted shortly after it started to record. This might happend when/if your heart rate gets too high and you move during your sleep. Your Charge 4 might interpret this as you waking up
If this is caused by the Apnea, I'm not sure, but you could consult it with your health specialist.
Hope this helps.

Since the issues started with the latest update, don’t want to see all the trite responses. If problems started with the update release the problem is probably in the update and Fitbit should just fix it.
