Steps not syncing w/ Moto X4

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Purchased new Moto X4 3 weeks ago and steps will not sync via the app.  Contacted Fitbit support and was told this phone isn't supported.  Posting here to let other people know.

Have to keep my old Nexus 6 just for syncing purposes.  😞

Let me know if / when this is fixed.

Have you set it up on the computer? As that is another option

So many phones are released its hard to keep up with them.

Just keep checking back on the compatibility page. It wont be announced here

I have tried to 'sync' with my computer but it won't do so. I have also checked with the compatibility and as of today (May 28th, 2018) it hasn't been added. Yet my phone sees the 'Charge 2' when I turn on my Bluetooth. I don't have a back-up phone to sync with and it looks like it's not going to sync with my computer (tried 5 times).

What the hey?   What did the fitbit Android developers do to make the X4 not work with the fitbit app?

I have a similar issue. The fitbit will sync with the Moto 4, however it does not track distance on my daily 2.2 mile walk anymore. It records the walk as .3 miles. When reading the help forums, I saw that I need to have data turned on for this to work. I never did before and it worked fine. I dont want to go back to my old phone. Any suggestions?

This is the solution to have your Moto x4 with your Fitbit. I have an Ionic but I got these instructions from someone with a Versa.  I just purchased my Moto x4 yesterday.  It not only syncs, I'm getting all notifications AND the phone still syncs with other things with no problem .

  • Shutdown the Fitbit app if it is running
  • Turn on developer mode on your Moto x4
  • To turn on developer mode go to settings - system - about phone: then tap on build number 7 times.
  • Go back to the system page and you should now see an option that says { } Developer options
  • Go to Developer options page and change the following option: Bluetooth AVRCP Version
  • The default option is set to AVRCP 1.4 CHANGE TO: AVRCP 1.6
  • Go to Bluetooth settings and tell your phone to forget the Fitbit
  • Power down your phone
  • Reboot your Fitbit (hold down both the left button and the bottom right button until you see the startup fitbit logo)
  • Power up your phone (wait for it to completely start up - make sure you have a WiFi connection and Bluetooth is running)
  • Start the Fitbit app, it should automatically establish a new Bluetooth connection and sync.

Thank you for your reply.   For me, the fitbit started working again with the fitbit app update of many months ago.

This solution doesn't work for everyone. I tried it and it only solved the problem for about 30 minutes or so.
