My steps are syncing on my dashboard but not showing up in the challenges?

Hello, @MollyC3! Welcome to the Forums! Cat Very Happy Please confirm that you are not manually logging activities? Also, are you trying to see this on your computer or mobile device? Since the Challenges are only available on the App. If you are using the App and it is still not working, it could be due to the following reasons:

1. You manually logged an activity. Steps from manually logged activities do not count toward challenges; only steps recorded by your tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
2. You used MobileRun to track GPS data with your app. Only steps recorded by a tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
3. All challenge participants are not in the same time zone.

Keep me updated! :}

What does challenge participants being in different time zones have to do with it?  I always challenge with the same people and never have a problem.  Having problems with 2 different challenges today.  I have over 17K steps and the challenges say 1150.

Hey there, @foxybrown475! Welcome aboard! Heart The challenge begins and ends in the challenge owner's timezone, so if you're in a different timezone than the challenge owner, you may notice that your challenge leaderboard stats do not always match your dashboard stats.

So for instance, if you are doing a 1 day challenge it will run from 12am-12pm in the time zone of the creator, if you are 5 hours ahead of them your steps taken between 5am (day 1) and 5am (day 2) would be the ones that count. See also the discussion that my friend @PureEvil had here with another user who was wondering the same.

Also, keep in mind that using any kind of manual logging when running or walking will not count towards your challenges.

Yes, I understand how timezones work. The issue was not "some steps not
syncing" but "no steps syncing". It's all good now.

Hey, @foxybrown475! Thanks for the updates! I'm glad to hear that you are back on track. How did you resolve the issue?Man Tongue

Hi! I Ann having this same issue.  Mine has nothing to do with time zones. I have nearly 14,000 steps today,  which show up on my dashboard, but the challenges have 0 steps for for my name. Two separate challenges today and same deal. Also, I am using mobile track today, but I know it should sync regardless because my dad uses only mobile track. Frustrated. How do I get them to sync?  I'm not manually logging either.

Hello there, @Caseydillonjone! Welcome to the Forums! Hmmm...this is weird. Please confirm that you are not using another third party App that might be causing this. Also, the timezone is very important, it needs to be in the same as the creator of the challenge. Keep in mind that all the activities recorded using mobile track will not sync to the challenges, only the ones recorded directly with your tracker.

Please confirm this details and let me know! Man Very Happy

I'm having the same issue, and we are in the same time zones. My challenges show hardly any steps but my dashboard is accurate.

I compete in challenges weekly with people in different time zones. It will
give a pop up saying the creator is in a different time zone. Your steps
will only sync during the time specified.

Hello, @Jules92207@foxybrown475! ok, thanks for the updates. Is this happening while you participate on the Workweek Hustle?

You can also try to log out and back in from the App, restart your phone and try to sync again.

If this doesn't work, please provide me as much information as you can and if you can provide screenshot. 🙂

I just reset everything last night when it wasn't recognizing my Fitbit so all fresh and charged as of this morning. I was asked to join a daily challenge today and so far here's a screen shot of my dashboard and my challenge page at the same time. Clearly they aren't in sync.

I am having the same problem.

I am in the same time zone with my challengers.
I am not manually putting my walks in.

I am today at 9.409 steps in a goal day challenge.  The only challenge I am doing.

AND I am extremely frustrated!!

I just checked with my 2 friends that are in challenges, 1 is in another
time zone and hasn’t updated in 4 hours. The second challenge we are both
in the same time zone and we haven’t updated for 5 hours. I can only think
that there is a network issue since all 3 of us are having the same issue.

I have 6 in my challenge and none of us can sync to the challenge either... wish we could get some kind of response from Fitbit.

Looks like it has been happening intermittently for years... maybe time to switch to Apple Watch
