Last night my Fitbit Charge 2 had an exclamation mark on the screen. I tried doing the restart that is listed on so many sites but it wouldn't restart. Then this morning it is dead and won't turn back on. I have cleaned the connections, tried pushing the start button for 20 seconds, nothing is working. Please help, it appears to have died and won't restart.

Hello @Jenn1676, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for troubleshooting your device prior to posting too, I understand how frustrating this situation can be for you. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation.
Looking forward to your reply, let me know if you have any additional questions.

The heart rate monitor is not blinking and I have tried doing the self help suggestions with no luck.
