App not working properly

My fitbit inspire is not working correctly it's recording my minutes and steos on a daily basis. But I have my goals set as 3 exercises per week and this should be triggered by at least 10, 000 steps or walking for 30 minutes continuously.  For the last week it's not showing on the app the days I've met these goals even though I've done 10,000 steps or I've walked for 30 mins please help and please explain it simple as I'm not very technical

Thank you

Hi @KelN43 the 3 exercise tile is not about the user reaching there daily goal. It is about days that have a recorded activity. This could be a run, walk, swim, bike ride, or even a Fitbit recorded Yoga class.

To have an excercise day marked it must be a Fitbit recorded exercise.

I am well aware of how to meet my goals I am asking for technical advice as I am meeting my goals but my fitbit app isn't recognising the exercise on its counting my steps and minutes but if I do x 3 different exercises per week (which is my goals I have set) it doesn't recognise the x 3 exercises and yes the exercises are ones that a fitbit should automatically recognise I should not have to put these in manually it's only stopped recognising my exercise in this last week I've had the fitbit for over a year

Your asking for technical info. Going back to your top post, simply getting 10000 steps or walking a total of 30 minutes does not make for a recorded exercise. Where these minutes of exercise continuous in time with only very short breaks like waiting for a light?

Where your arm motions about what they should be for the unmentioned exercises?

Has your Fitbit been syncing? You mention that the app isn't recognizing your steps? This may point to a sync issue.

For auto recognition of exercises the tracker looks at the way the arm is moving not the steps that are taken.

This is why an outdoor walk can be recognized and a treadmill walk can not.

Yes this is the problem I'm doing over my recognised minutes and steps and yes it is recognising both the minutesaand the steps as its calculating them but just not recording it as actual exercise anymore and it was recording it as exercise up until 1 week ago so something is wrong and yes it's syncing.

Hey!

I’ve been having this exact same issue, my exercises are on auto recognise after 10-15mins, however the last week or so, it hasn’t been recognising them and I’ve had to input them manually.

It’s measuring that I have had some active minutes, as well as my heart rate being in cardio/fat burn for 10+ minutes but no recognition of an actual workout done. Very strange!

anyone found a solution yet? Maybe the app needs an update 🤔

Active minutes have nothing to do with recognizing am exercise.

For an exercise to be recognized, the tracker on the arm needs to have the type of movement that normally happens during the type of exercise. Looking at your phone may be enough to keep the tracker from detecting a walk.

I dont understand, you say the tracker is recognizing the exercise. But even though the exercise has been recognized and recorded as an exercise, the exercise does not get recorded.

I'm also not sure what the reasoning of keeping the type of exercise a secret.

I don't understand why Fitbit doesn't feel some dedication to it's patrons and fix the problems. Instead they tell customers all of the things they are doing wrong. I cannot get the app to recognize the words treadmill or walk when I enter them manually. Quit producing junk and take some pride in your work. And don't tell me all the things I need to do, I have the most recent app updates and restarted my phone, it's still is being assy.
