I have had an Inspire HR for 7 months. Over the last month when I would try and use walk mode none of my routes would show up. Then after a few seconds my Fitbit would say it had disconnected. When I walk I use a band on my left arm for my phone and I always keep my Fitbit on my right wrist. I started to wonder if something was causing interference with the signal because when my phone was in my hand it would reconnect. Then I realized it’s not a signal interference issue it’s a range issue; I put my phone on my right arm and it stops disconnecting and the walk gps route worked again. I haven’t had any range issues until the month of March. I did some further testing and sure enough every time I move more than about 18 inches away it drops the connection. So far I have tried the following with no success (I’m on an updated IPhone XR):
1) Made sure my phone and Fitbit were up to date. I restarted both devices.
2) Removed and re downloaded the Fitbit app.
3) Removed and reconnected my Fitbit.
4) Removed other Bluetooth items that my phone can connect to. I don’t ever have any other devices utilizing Bluetooth when I use my Fitbit.
5) Tested other devices with my phones Bluetooth and had no range issues. I can walk around my house with my Bluetooth earbuds in and the connection never so much as stutters.
6) shut off WiFi to make sure there wasn’t any type of band interference in my home. No changes but again, I have no issues with other Bluetooth devices. My wife also has an inspire HR and has no issues with hers.
All of this testing tells me that this has to be an issue with the Fitbit inspire HR itself, be it some kind of firmware or hardware. What steps do I need to take to remedy this?
