Change language

I purchased my Fitbit Inspire HR in the Netherlands but I want to use it in English. My phone is set in English, and so is the Fitbit app. If I look at the advanced settings in my app, it correctly says under Location "Netherlands (English)", but my tracker is in Dutch.

I checked here, but nothing that applied https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1536/?q=change+language&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1#t...

What should I do?

Thanks in advance

Hi, @AleMell , to change the language you will need to go to the web based dashboard rather than the app.  There is a link on the top right of every page in the Community.  Click on dashboard, and then click the small gear icon on the right.  From the drop down menu choose settings, and under settings you will find language by country.

If it is already set to Nederlands (engels) then you may need to change it to UK, Canada or USA.  Be sure to sync your Fitbit whenever you make a change.

Changing the language setting should not change the location on yur app, as long as you have "set location automatically" turned on.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!

Thanks Julia, it was indeed set as Nederlands (engels). I did what you said and synced it and not it is in English. Curious problem, since also the previous setting should have been in English (engels)...

Cheers!

I tried what you said, but still my Inspire remains in Dutch.

Any other step I should do?

I actually have to say that while the solution proposed by Julia worked for me for some time, the tracker keeps on reverting back the language to Dutch. Repeating the procedure fixes the problem, but only for a while.

Is it a bug?

Same problem with my FitBit and it’s insisting on being in Japanese. I’m done with FitBit. That’s atrocious design to force users into the dominant language of wherever their phone happens to be registered.  I can’t think of any other app or device for a global product or service that forces such an approach on users.

Hello, yeah it reverts buck to Dutch and it's really annoying. Could you please fix it?

Unbelievable! It's nearly 1 year since this model was released and a MASSIVE bug like this is still ignored!

Thanks for adding a clock face with a raccoon, much appreciated! What about working on the fact that it is still not possible to change the language??

Is anyone from Fitbit even reading these treads?
