Deleting Message from Random Members

I'm starting to get friend requests from random strangers more often. I'm a member of an online health community, so some are people from there and we have regular challenges which are pretty fun.

But others are random men that appear to have fake profiles and I'm guessing they're probably scammers. After accepting friends, I determine if I legitimately know them from another forum. If I don't know them and they ask personal questions, I delete them as friends.

However, I can't figure out how to delete their creepy chat messages. In fact, I have messages from friends that are weeks old and I'd like to be able to delete those too.

Any help here would be appreciated.

Hi @DeborahMW  at present, there isn't a way for us to remove those messages. As for random friend requests, why not check them out before accepting them as a friend. There are a lot of people who troll forums. Sometimes changing your avatar might deter someone who sees your smiling face and hopes you'll be their friend. Glad you're with us!

It's disappointing that there's so little control with a user's Fitbit dashboard. We can't delete old challenges or messages? I'm used to apps being a little more user friendly.

@DeborahMW  challenges do drop off after the winner has been announced in a day or so.

I have some that are 5 days old. Frustrating that I can't delete these myself. I picked Fitbit over other trackers since they had been around a while. After reading posts from other users on these forums requesting control over their dashboards for years and still not getting these updates, I'm thinking I'll try a different tracker next time.

EDIT August 2020: So glad I can now delete old challenges and messages via the app. If only they would make the steps easier to read on the slim versions, perhaps with new watch faces. Time is secondary to me and I don't need that to be the largest feature. Better contrast would make viewing steps easier too. Hopefully it's something they're working on.
