Fitbit Inspire Question

I got a fitbit inspire for Christmas as I used to have a FitBit Charge, but my 3 year old wanted to help me one day after my workout and "clean it" for me by putting it in the full sink, which the thought was very sweet so I couldnt be upset.

Anyways, I have found the the inspire to be much different than the charge as I have found it to be anyways. I have a few questions. Some others I was able to google and find answers, but these I have tried different resolutions, but have no found no success in fixing.

  1. On the app I have it set to auto detect exercise after 20 minutes. Thursday I ran for 45 minutes without putting it in manually to test it, but the inspire never recognized it as exercise.

  2. I often try and get creative with my workouts, but some of the things I do are not options under the presets (mine has run, treadmill, weights, stair climber), but without it auto recognizing workouts how can I make it so that it accurately counts these?

  • bonus question: how accurate is the fitbit? I was impressed with the inspire because I used it for the first time Thursday and while at work. I am an office manager and had a lot of data to input and while at my desk for a few hours it didn't count my regular motions as steps, but I have also read that for every 10,000 steps it counts to really count it as around 6000.

Even though your post is labeled "Inspire", is it actually an "Inspire HR"?

You mention the presets, but I don't think the Inspire has these.

Not trying to be picky, but this affects how to answer.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
