I hadn't worn my Inspire for a few days.  When I put it on, it showed 1,400 steps. How's that?  I thought it starts over after midnight?

Do you have a phone and have mobile track enabled? 

If so then that could be why. 

Another possibility was the Inspire on something that was vibrating?
