After only a few months, my son's Fitbit has become a brick. Fitbit refuses to help, because somehow I was unlucky enough to choose an "unauthorized seller" on Amazon. Let me share some other issues in case anyone is considering this device:
It is impossible to read in the sun. You will see this feedback everywhere, and it's absolutely true. You won't be able to see what time it is, your steps, messages, or anything else when you are outside. A plain watch would be more useful.
It sometimes tracks sleep. Sometimes not.
Many people experienced the same issue my son did with his device. The side buttons become unresponsive, and that's all she wrote. It's not an expensive device unless one is required to replace it every few months.
We became a Fitbit family after my employer provided a free Fitbit to me. Sharing the app with my son was fun for the short time it lasted. Next time, we will invest in a sturdier brand and a company that stands by its products.
