I've had multiple Fitbit Inspires over the years. I don't love them, but they're the most unobtrusive watch on the market with a pedometer and decent sleep tracking.
I've had an Inspire 1, 2, and, now, a 3. My sister stopped at the 2. & they have *all* broken at the plastic latch where the band connects to the face, rendering it unwearable.
There are already many posts, like this, about the issue in these forums and on Reddit, each with long threads of "same here". I'm just adding mine to the chorus after completing what's probably the last glue-up this device will endure before retirement:
Freshly super-glued on top of the grey epoxy: JB Weld + super glue... filed down so that the charger still fits:
FWIW, JB Weld on its own is the best first fix I've found, but you have to be very careful not to interfere with the charging mechanics. I had to file this one down after it dried.
Other solutions:
- Fitbit will replace the watch if it's under warranty.
- For those out-of-warranty, Fitbit may offer a discount on the purchase of a new Inspire
- There are also a few clips, but they wouldn't allow use as a sleep tracker
- I've sewn up a few scrunchy contraptions to hold it like a pocket on my wrist, but no sleep, and the clock isn't visible.
