Inspire HR Clock Error with iPad Pro 9.7'

Hi,

We bought 2 new Inspire HRs. Both work fine on an iPhone. Both have the same problem on an iPad Pro: When setting up the device (have done this many times), we get the error:

"There was an error Abort"

If you ignore this then the device syncs ok and everything works except the clock:

On the inspire screen, the clock is showing the correct time but it says:

"Clock error, go to the Fitbit app and try another clock."

After a short time the app says:

"We were unable to update / install one or more apps. Please try again"

If you then go to try and install a new clock face you get:

"Some applications did not finish installing. Do you want to continue installing them now?

Later or Continue installing?"

Select Continue. App sits on Switching, never moves.

Select later: App sits on Switching, never moves.

Everything else seems to work. It seems to be locked in the loop of the failed clock install.

We have tried all the obvious, reseting the inspire HR, removing it from app, clearing user data, deleting the app, restarting the iPad, reinstalling the device many times.

How can we fix this or is it unifixable and we should return the device?

Same here.  Spent too much time trying to get my ipad to work.  The iPhone works very well, the ipad did not want to connect to Bluetooth, update a new clock face, and would never sync.

Hello @Shrinking-Daddy and welcome to the Help forums.  Forgive me if I misunderstood your description of your issue.  It sounds like you set up the devices on an iPhone and are trying to set them up on an iPad, too.  You only need to set up the Inspire HR on one device.  To sync with another compatible device, you download the app to that device and log in.  A Fitbit can sync with any compatible device that has the app on it.  Please note: if you have your tracker set up to receive notifications, the tracker has a tight Bluetooth bond to that device.  It won't sync to other devices unless notifications are turned off.

Please let us know if I misunderstood you.

Hi Laurie,

Thanks for getting back to me. No you don't quite understand. We bought two fit bits, one for me and my iPhone and one for my wife and her iPad. I set up mine on th iPhone, everything OK but the one on the iPad had this setup Abort and clock problem from the beginning.

So for test purposes only, I removed my Fitbit from the iPhone and synced my wife's to the iPhone : OK

Then removed her's from her iPad and tried to sync my Fitbit to iPad: not OK.

I then put them back (did this several times)

So the situation now is:

Fitbit Inspire HR on iPhone 6 OK

Fitbit Inspire HR on iPad Pro 9.7" NOT OK: has clock error.

@Shrinking-Daddy   Thank you for the explanation.  Your iPad is a fully compatible device.  So I am not sure why you are having this problem.  I suggest you contact Support for more help.  It really sounds like you have done all the right troubleshooting.

Hi Thanks for the info. In the end we gave up. Put a support call in, they said they would get a response from development but got nothing.

I kept the Inspire and used with my iPhone which is fine and my wife bought an older model to use with her iPad.
