Inspire HR picking up incorrect activity

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I chose 6 activities for the automatic activity recognition.

My inspire HR is regularly picking up that I'm swimming when I'm not! The first time I noticed it I was cooking, yesterday I think it was washing my hair.  I do want it on though as my health rewards only picks up 10 000 steps or 300 calories in a session and I may forgot to start the workout on my tracker.

This makes my log inaccurate for rewards tracking.

I've also noticed steps being counted when I'm driving as well even as a passenger.

@NickyGetsFit   If your Inspire HR always picks up these activities as swimming, then the easiest thing to do is to turn the auto-recognition for swimming to Ignore.  Tap on your Exercise tile on your phone > tap on the gear > Swimming > toggle the auto-recognition to Off.  There is a possibility that your activities might get recognized as Elliptical, so you might want to turn that off, too.  These activities are being recognized because your Inspire HR is sensing motion that its algorithms say are an activity.  If you don't want to turn anything off, then adjust the time to something longer than 15 minutes.

All wrist trackers have the annoying problem of over counting steps.  If this situation applies to you, you can reduce, but probably won't eliminate your extra steps.  If you wear your Inspire HR on your non-dominant wrist, change it to the Dominant setting in the app.  This changes the sensitivity of the tracker.

As for these extra steps and your rewards.  If this is happening to you, it is happening to everyone else in the program.  I bet your Wellness Program takes this into account when deciding rewards.
