Inspire HR seriously overcounting

My new Inspire HR is overcounting my steps by a big margin. I am wearing it on my non dominant wrist and have changed my setting to dominant wrist to try to minimise overcounting but it is still happening. I know it is wrong as my regular walk steps counted on my previous Fitbit device and verified within a few steps using my husband’s app are far exceeded. It is overcounting by at leat 50%. An example of a regular walk counting about 3000 steps is registering at least 5000! Help!

I have an inspire which was lovely until the other day when this started to happen. I’m back to my flex 2 which also overcounts. 200+ steps before I left the house from brushing my hair and teeth. 600+ steps from typing on my laptop this afternoon. Yay 😞

I wear mine on my non-dominant (left) arm, but set it as if it was my dominant (right) arm. It was the only way I could stop the over counting.
