Help please.  I have just been given a Inspire HR, I want it to record steps which it does fine, exercise bike, which I can’t seem to get set despite live chat with Fitbit.  I’ve tried setting it for Spinning but just can’t seem to be able to get it to record automatically.  Any ideas??

Not all exercise, including cycling, is step-based.

The tracker is on your wrist.  It detects steps from the swinging of your arms when you walk.  When your wrist is held steady, such as on exercise bike handles, steps often are not detected.  But it is still getting calorie burn from your elevated heart.

But if you are intent on getting steps from exercise bike, you could try putting the tracker  in a pocket where it could detect the motion.  But if you do that, you will lose heart rate data for that time.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

It won't track you bike riding because it only senses your arm's movement, but in bike riding, your arm don't move. Two things you can do are either put the FitBit on your leg, or manually turn on the biking setting. Of course you can also do both.

Thanks so much! I was thinking about putting it on my ankle. I used to wear my Flex 2 on my ankle all the time. (Just got the Inspire HR). How do I turn on the bike setting?

Thanks so much! Just received the Inspire HR. Had the Flex 2 and always wore it on my ankle so no problem getting the steps calculated on the bike.
