I have just returned a charge 3 after only 2 days. It didn’t auto recognise any exercises and the step counter was wildly inaccurate. (I apparently undertook 2000 steps on my daily commute in the car.) When I tried to mitigate this by adding driving for those periods I was congratulated on hitting my exercise goal for the week. I am bitterly disappointed as I have found the flex 2 great for recognising swimming and have been able to count calories pretty effectively managing to loose 7lb in 3 weeks. All I really wanted was a HR monitor in addition for a bit more accuracy on the treadmill. Has anyone who has had a preview use of the inspire found the accuracy a problem?

@Fatpie Welcome to the Fitbit forums! I moved your post to a new thread to help keep the community tidy.
That is a great question. I have used most of Fitbits trackers and watches and in my honest opinion, I have found Inspire HR to be as accurate and consistent as any of them. This is just my opinion but I am hoping that others will chime in with their experiences on this thread.
For additional information on the accuracy of Fitbit devices, I recommend checking out this article. If you have additional questions, feel free to let me know.

@Fatpie I haven’t had any issues with accuracy of my Inspire HR! It’s been spot on so far and auto recognized my walks.

hey @Fatpie , I have been wearing my inspire HR for three days. It is as accurate as any other fitbit tracker I have had for day to day activity and recognizing activity. I will say that during my treadmill run yesterday and today it was off from what I have been getting consistently from my Versa. it was lower by over 20 beats as my average during the activity. My versa was giving me 170, the Inspire gave me 149. It isn't a lot, but it changes calorie calculation so for me it was disappointing. I remember my versa being in line with all my previous trackers for runs, so I have to think the inspire isn't reading me accurately once I hit cardio and peak.

I have found an accuracy issue.
I had a fitbit a few years ago and decided to get a new one. The price and features of the Inspire were spot on. It measures steps accurately but it also measures everything else. The simple act of going from a sitting to a standing position gained me 30 steps. Tying my shoes? More steps. Standing still feeding my fish? More steps. Petting the toy poodle in my lap? More steps.
I understand that it is a wrist based device and there will be some movement of my arm recorded. I'm okay with that. I am not okay with gaining thousands of steps while watching tv and rubbing a tiny dogs stomach.
I have gone through the forums and tried everything anyone has suggested. I have it set to my dominant hand while wearing it on my non dominant hand. Now the problem is a little better but the step accuracy is a little worse. I've restarted it repeatedly. I have deleted it from the app and paired it again. I turned off the auto detection of exercise, which takes away one of the devices selling points. If it has been suggested, I have done it. My Inspire is less than 2 days old and already has serious functionality problems.
The one thing that going through the forums has done is make me regret buying it and at this point I am seriously considering sending it back. The Inspire is just another of several Fitbit devices that have had this problem and it appears to be brushed off as user error by Fitbit. If petting my dog is a user error then I would rather have my money back.

I have a similar experience. I literally watch my steps count up while in a van going to work.
I am regretting getting this piece of 💩.
Should've gotten myself a Mi Band instead.

I have a new Inspire HR, and have been wearing it along with my old One, to compare steps. Today, the HR is saying I have about 6000 steps, while the One says 5100. This was a day that involved a 30 minute brisk walk, and a lot of moving gently around the house. What is the point of having a fitness tracker if it's just guessing? Maybe I should just use the larger band and wear it around my ankle! But then I'd have to stand on one foot and get the ankle up close enough to my eyes to read the heart rate. This is pretty annoying....

After reading all these replies, I'm very disappointed. I have a fit bit zip and may need to replace it soon because of problems with the battery cover. Unfortunately that's what happened with my 1st zip, too. I didn't realize they stopped making the zip until I started pricing them and realized it's hard to even find them online anymore. It has been great for accuracy on the treadmill, unlike several other fitbits I tried a few years ago. So disappointed that the 'replacement' Inspire also isn't accurate. Does anyone know of an alternate brand to clip on that also records minutes of activity?

It is frustrating! I will say, though, that I have continued to test it alongside the One, and most of the time, the step number is within 100 - 200 steps difference, which isn't so bad. A few times I've actually counted steps for a bit, and it's been pretty close. It's challenging to keep using the One because I have trouble figuring out how to keep the stats separate on the dashboard, so at this point, I'm going to give up on the One and just decide to go with the Inspire. The main point for me is to challenge myself, and to have a general idea of how much activity I've had during the day, and I guess this will do that, even if it isn't entirely accurate. My next experiment will be to put it in my pocket, and see how that works. And to figure out if the dominant or non-dominant option is better. All this figuring must be good for the brain cells too, yes? A win-win!

I just got my Fitbit and was super excited. Then I noticed that my steps on my Fitbit isn’t accurate. I’m glad to see a certain number but I know it it’s true.
Is there anyway to resolve this problem, if not, what can I buy that will show an accurate count of my steps

I just wore my Inspire, and its not the HR model, yesterday for the first time and it logged 5,000 steps and I probably did 600 steps all total yesterday. Its wildly inaccurate and I want to return it. Not happy

i have had inspire about 3 weeks ------the sleep monitor is very screwy--some times a few hrs off either more sleep than i had or less,it went 4 straight days of being close now off again--i found out it tracks movement not actual sleep---today i had my best running in years both this morning and tonight but it did not recognize me getting exercise ---its had me swimming while jogging a few times bicycling a few times but i have not done either ------so now i am wondering if i should be happy about what appears to be a stronger heart in past month--is this false hope? the more i read about fitbit less i expect things to be right
