Inspire does NOT Automatically Update data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Inspire, Windows 10; Latest FitBit Software Installed on PC & Samsung S21 Smartphone.....

I have given up dealing with FitBit tech Support; I truly feel they are of absolutely no Help.  Different agents on same issue provide different Answers and NONE have ever assisted me to resolve the issue....my Inspire will not Update data...I must open the PC or Android App and Manually request an Update\Sync be done.

Fit tech Support has now told me FitBit Tracker will not automatically Update data and owners must update via a Manual Update.  I know this cannot be so because up until about 6 to 8 mos ago I never opened any FitBit App and my data was Updated.

I have Re-Booted the Inspire.

I have deleted and re-installed the PC App and Android App...re-pairing those Apps with the Inspire.

None has resolved the Issue...to Update my Data I must Manually perform an Update by opening the Apps.

yes; Bluetooth is Turned on both on the PC and Phone.

yes; when I re-installed the Apps the pairing was sucessful

Now the Windows App even though it showed Pairing sucessful...when I open it a Popup appears asking Me to Pair the Inspire...

What a Mess...and like I wrote, FitBit tech Support has been useless.  Several times they advised the matter would be escalated to a Higher Tech Level agent...and I would be contacted by email...NO one has ever contacted me.  I think they use that as away to end the Support session....

Is this true....FitBit (Inspire) no longer perform Auto Data Updates you MUST manually Update?  If not, anyone having this issue and Fixed it....I am a good learner and ready to resolve the Issue...thanks

Hello @denmarfl

I can try and help…or better explain the way I understand it. Like you I too remember when out Fitbits seemed to seamlessly sync to our mobile devices. You most likely remember a feature called “all day sync” that used to be part of the settings in the Fitbit App. I’m not entirely sure when this occurred (it’s been quite awhile ago’ that this feature was remove from the Fitbit App. My understanding of this was to help with the persistent drain on the battery of the Fitbit Tracker. I could see benefits in that but I also miss the benefit of seamless syncing too but I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too all the time I suppose. Your Fitbit will sync on its own, usually about every 15 mins to your mobile device when your near by it or as soon as you open your device. Like you sometimes I find myself going to my Fitbit app and having to swipe the page downward to manually sync. But usually it will sync on its own. I did see in your post where you may be stumbling into conflict and confusion with your syncing issues. It’s the fact that you have your Fitbit tracker paired to both your PC and your mobile device. Although there’s no “rule” that this is just impossible to do as you know you certainly can but you also have to accept that if you choose to have one Fitbit synced to two devices then you have to understand that it’s not gonna always be a pretty sight. You ended your post with “I am a good learner and ready to resolve the issue”….There’s nothing new to learn actually. Your set up correctly (except the double pairing) and your correct in thinking the way things sync has changed. So with that said, is your issue really an issue or technically the mystery is solved?
😃I hope this answers your questions and helps in some way

It does but, I have turned off all PC's and my cellphone is the only device syncing.  My cell phone is in my pocket most of the day with the FitBit in another pocket not 6" apart.  At no time during the day did the FitBit sync to the Cellphone's FitBit app.  It did when I opened the cellphone FitBit app and pulled dowm the screen to force a sync.  FitBit in my opinion instead of enhancing their product has diminished its seamless functionality.  The only way to Sync is to perform a Manual sync.  Syncing is important for me as my activity is sync'ed to my healthcare provider who inturn Rewards me when I reach certain levels of activity with a monitary Reward.

My wife has an Inspire as well, Fit app is on her Laptop....and she never has to manually update her activity.  So perhaps I disable the cell FitBit App

and re-enable my Fitbit PC App (I have bluetooth Turned off,,,so I'll turn it back on)...and see if I get any Data Syncs.....

Very disappointed in FitBit Support...phone and chat...they have never been of any help.......Thanks

Hello again @denmarfl

I noticed that you said you have your cell phone in one pocket and your Inspire in the other. I would then assume you have your settings set to Clip On instead of Wrist On. 🤔 Have you tried changing the settings to Wrist on and wear it on your wrist for a few hours to see if that improved the syncing issue? I understand that you may prefer to wear it as Clip On in your pocket….I just trying to figure out if that would make a difference. Possibly narrow the issue down in an attempt to troubleshooting the syncing problem. But with all that said I hope connection to your PC will at least give you better results.
